At Auto Gallery of Winnipeg, customers always come first

'Customers are treated as our friends and as part of the family'

For the third year in a row, Auto Gallery of Winnipeg has been chosen for a Consumer's Choice Award as the top used car dealership in Winnipeg.

This type of recognition by consumers is gratifying for co-owners Gord Pedersen and Dan Gagnon, who operate Auto Gallery of Winnipeg's two branches on Portage Avenue and Pembina Highway.

It also vindicates their working motto "The customer always comes first."

Mr. Pedersen says that they founded the company in 2002 and today a large amount of their business comes from repeat buyers and referrals.

"The repeat and referral business is paramount in this industry" he says.  "Our number one source of advertising is through our customers.   We treat customers the way we would want to be treated."

"As trite as that sounds, it seems to be working and, most importantly, they're ecstatic about their purchase.  This means they'll come back and bring friends and family members with them."

"Many consumers today know what they want and we simply aim to find the right vehicle for their needs." Mr. Pedersen adds.

"The customer always has to come first and our staff must be honest, upfront and have a strong sense of integrity.  We have a fairly informal atmosphere here and customers seem to appreciate that.  The teamwork is evident as our sales staff work well together helping each other whenever they are needed."

"Dan and I buy the vehicles we sell," Mr. Pedersen explains.  "We care deeply about what we sell because it directly impacts our reputation, so it better be top quality."

Mr. Pedersen also emphasizes that anyone buying a used car must conduct proper due diligence and check into the background of the business.  The Better Business Bureau is a great place to start.
